Dr. Mark Fugit became a USPTA-certified professional to better serve tennis players in helping them reach their full potential. For the past nine years, he has worked as a sport psychologist in Dallas. He works almost exclusively with tennis players and tennis teams.
“Working with young persons and high school tennis programs is highly rewarding. Lessons learned in tennis transfer easily to other areas of life,” Mark says.
Mark has a doctorate in psychology from the Wisconsin School of Professional Psychology in Milwaukee, Wis., a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree in arts from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Ill. He is a member of the American Psychological Association and an American Board of Sport Psychology Certified Sport Psychologist.
In the future, Mark would like to “make a significant contribution to the lives of young tennis players and to the tennis community in general. Also, to perform pertinent research with tennis players, publishing information and add to knowledge regarding performance enhancement and mental skills.”
Mark is the father of three tennis players and is an active league player himself.
